This site is about a journey to better health. Before I introduce you to me, let me explain why I chose the picture on the left showing someone in perfect physical condition first.
You see, the photo (left) is the late Harry Johnson, the oldest man to be titled, Mr. America, in 1959. He's past away earlier this year, according to a family member in January 2020 Harry was 96 years old, and he doesn't still look like this, but he is a personal friend of mine and someone I adore greatly for what he accomplished in his life as a bodybuilder and weightlifter.
But why would I put his photo up there on my blog instead of my current photo, you might ask? Simply, he has the body design that I want to achieve and will achieve as I begin my journey to better health today.
Find me on Facebook here.
How many times have you seen a picture of someone you've had communication with either by social media or some other electronic means and they've posted a picture from 20 years ago or more.
Then, when you see them in person, you see someone almost totally different. Hair is grey or missing altogether. Wrinkles, bags under the eyes, double chin. I'm sure you get the picture, right?
I could have done that here, but rather I wanted to put the image of what I have set as a goal to achieve in the next few years so that every time I come to my blog here to record another step along my journey to better health, I see Harry's picture there to inspire and challenge me.
Later in this blog, I'll introduce you to Harry Johnson with some videos and an interview I had with him a few years ago. Until then, you'll just have to put up with me as I begin this journey to better health and a better me.
If I can inspire you to follow me to better health, I would love to have you do so. Inside, you'll see my before photos I took today, July 5th, 2016.
Also, you'll see photos of weight loss receipts from a scale I use at GNC in the local mall as it's the only reliable scale to weigh my 400+ pound body. Besides, it's further validation to the program I'm using to achieve my results.
It will be no secret that the catalyst for my journey to better health is using this healthy shake for replacing meals and providing an exercise regimen. It's not my first rodeo as I had first been introduced to this concept back in May of 2010.
Then, I was 439 and, at that time, that was the highest weight I had reached in my life, That was before today, when I tilted the scale at 465. More on that later.
In that first run with this program that included a meal replacing shake, I had a tremendous success early on with the loss of body fluids that had attributed to much of my excess body weight and was able to achieve a total weight loss of 111 (that's right, one hundred eleven) pounds in about 100 days.
I was down to 328, no where near my goal of 250 pounds but excitingly close. I stopped that first time when I sprained my knee and met a lady that quickly became my wife and she liked to cook. Unfortunately for me, I still liked to eat and the weight returned.
I tried riding the weight loss bull one time in 2013 but that resulted in some inconsistencies in training and eating and the eventual breakup and divorce of that marriage, my third and last thank you very much! Somewhat depressed, I started eating wrong foods and the weight returned.
In 2014, I got onto Isagenix as a new bull to ride and stayed with them for only 36 days, losing 56 pounds but staying on a program of diet only, no exercise, for several months and dropped a total of 100 pounds before the holidays.
Needless to say, I could not afford their program as good as it was, and started eating at too many buffets and fast food restaurants. My weight returned with a vengeance which brings me up to where I am today.
I contacted my Coach recently to let her know of my intentions and found out that she and her husband have been faithfully following this program for quite a long time and have enjoyed the lifestyle and health I long for; and she was elated to say the least when I indicated I wanted to return.
Taking a brief survey over the phone of my current status, goals and desires, she was able to get me started on a simple process that entailed getting the product and a quick-start exercise program while qualifying for wholesale prices and building up a sideline business building up customers to follow me on my health journey. I ordered the product online and should be receiving it in a few days.
Then, I put my money where my mouth is (pun intended). Taking the Powder you mix with milk or water to make a shake will replace meals and begin to burn fat and shed pounds which will energize me to the point of beginning an exercise routine and start my journey to better health.
Now that I'm single and not in any physical relationship (I'm a Christian and am in a spiritual relationship with God through Jesus Christ), I am able to do whatever it takes to achieve my goals.
I hope to inspire many people to join me in my journey to better health. I'll see you on the inside.
